True love entered the world on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1975, in Clarksville, Tennessee, with the birth of Thomas Reginald Sallee, III, known to all as “Tommy” and to many as “Tiger”. After a short but powerfully blessed life, Tommy, the eldest child of Thomas Reginald Sallee, Jr. and Linda Ruth Britt Sallee, departed this world on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph Irvin, Sr., and Ruth Bond Britt; his paternal grandparents, Thomas Reginald, Sr., and Fayna Eldridge Sallee; uncle, Joseph Irvin Britt, Jr.; and aunt, Pamela Britt.
Tommy accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior early in life at Woodlawn Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church in Woodlawn, Tennessee. He was an esteemed graduate and stellar football athlete at Northwest High School, Clarksville, Tennessee and was recognized as a Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities scholar.
Tommy found true love, support, and a dedicated partner in life when he met Tania Rodriguez many years ago, with whom he united in marriage on December 26, 2023. Their love was an example of unconditional care, devotion, and commitment to many.
Tommy exhibited a remarkable entrepreneurial spirit and keen intellect from an early age. His drive, determination, and go-getter attitude was an example for all who knew him. His journey in the business world began as a teenager, and he quickly rose through the ranks, earning a reputation for his sharp business acumen and unwavering work ethic. Tommy’s contributions to the business community were extensive, with a career marked by innovation and dedication. Colleagues remember him not only as a visionary leader but also as a compassionate mentor, always willing to share his knowledge and inspire those around him.
Beyond the business world, Tommy was a loving son, brother, husband, nephew, cousin, and friend. He found true joy in life, whether it was spending quality time with family, enjoying a round of golf with friends, or traveling the world and exploring new destinations. His beautiful smile, infectious laughter, and warm, positive personality made him a beloved figure in all circles, professional and personal alike.
Tommy is survived by his beloved wife, Tania; his parents; his brother, Marques A. Sallee (Jasmine); aunt, Claudette Y. Sallee; aunt, Betty Allen; uncle, Derrick Britt; devoted cousin, Joseph Irvin Britt, III (Kimberly and Joseph, IV); father and mother-in-law, Danilo and Terrie Rodriguez, and a host of cousins and friends.
In honoring his memory, let us remember the lessons of resilience, determination, and kindness that he shared with us all.
