Sterling "Baby Dump" Slayden

Age 77 of Macon, MS, formerly of Clarksville passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 in Atlanta, GA. Visitation Friday, March 9, 2018 12:00 noon-7:00 p.m. with the family present 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Foston Funeral Home. Funeral service 12:00 noon Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Interment Walnut Grove Church Cemetery. He was born May 27, 1940 in Clarksville, TN to Sollie Slayden and Mealy Lisenby. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Sollie A. Slayden, Lonzo Slayden, Alex Lisenbee and Irvin Lisenbee. He was a 1958 graduate of the Historic Burt High School. He retired form Clarksville Montgomery County School System. He leaves to cherish his loving memories wife, Dora Joiner Slayden; daughters, Malissa Slayden, Atlanta, GA and Latoya (Ronnell) Mackins, Charlotte, NC; son, Sterling Slayden, Jr; grandchildren, Iyanna and Zion Mackins; sisters, Emma Nance, Indianapolis, IN, Rose (Charles) Carney and Stella Slayden, both of Clarksville, TN; brother, Lewis Slayden, Indianapolis, IN and a host of family and friends.
