Roberta Ogburn Allen

Roberta Ogburn earthly journey begin on the family farm February 12, 1950, in Adams, Montgomery County, Tennessee, to the late Cezar Drake Ogburn and Jodie Ogburn. In addition to her parents, her son, Edward Allen Jr., grandson, Dominique Ellis, eight siblings: Herbert Lee, Arthur, Willie, James Albert, Robert Lawrence, Sory, Joesph, and WL Ogburn preceded her in death.

 She accepted Christ at an early age at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Port Royal, TN and later attended Concord Missionary Baptist Church, Clarksville, TN. 

 Roberta was educated in the Montgomery County School System and a graduate of the Historic Burt High School, Class of 1968. She was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary 143. She was employed at Walmart for over 35 years as a Customer Service Manager (CSM) and retired in 2016. 

 She married Edward Allen in 1968, and this union blessed them with five children. 

She loved playing bingo with her daughter, sisters and friends. She loved working crossword puzzles and playing solitaire while relaxing at home. 

 Roberta departed this life for an eternal life in heaven on January 29, 2025, at the age of 74. 

 She leaves to cherish precious memories her children: Steven (Katie) Allen, Melissa Singletary, Eric Allen, Crystal (Jimbo Hughes) Allen, all of Clarksville, TN, Robert Green, Beverly Hills, CA; 18 grandchildren: Kila Allen, Libra Taylor, Chaqulla Allen Wynn, S. Lachelle Allen, Rudy Singletary, D’Andre Allen,  Bryant Jr., Christopher Allen, Ariana Allen, Demond Allen, Zo Turner, Marisha Allen, Jaden Allen, Nabraia Allen, ZaMarius McLendon, Jamarkious McLendon, Jasmyne Hughes, and Arrianna Hughes; 11 great-grandchildren; 11 siblings: sisters: Lucille Darden, Ruth Fort and Josephine Waller; brothers: Eugene (Linda) Ogburn, JL Ogburn, Charles (Linda) Ogburn, Harold (Jeannie) Ogburn, Raymond Ogburn, John Ogburn. Roy Dean Ogburn, Donald Ray (Ruby) Ogburn and two grand dogs: Sugar and Coco, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
