A TIME TO BE BORN…

Robin Laticia (McGhee) Moss has truly blessed this world with her presence, on November 28, 1958, she was born to Lannie Thomas McGhee and William Bratford McGhee in Columbus, GA.

A TIME TO WORSHIP…

Robin Moss accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of New Providence Baptist Church in Columbus, GA. She was the apple of her grandmother’s eye, Mittie Kate Blackmon, whom she affectionately called “Mama.” Mittie Kate taught her to trust, love, fear, and reverence the Lord. Mama’s wisdom made her the most influential person in Robin’s life, and those words continued to have reverberating benefits for a lifetime.

A TIME TO LEARN… 

Dr. Robin Moss was gifted with many talents; an artist, seamstress, writer, teacher, and preacher. She used her gifts for the uplifting of the Kingdom of God. Robin received her primary education in Columbus, GA graduating from Hardaway High School. Her secondary education began at Tennessee State University; however, she graduated “Cum Laude” with a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Art from Austin Peay State University. She earned her Master of Divinity Degree from Vanderbilt University and Doctor of Education from Trevecca Nazarene University. Her employments include working for the Tennessee Department of Human Services and teaching Women Studies and African American Studies at Austin Peay State University.

A TIME TO LOVE…

Mrs. Robin Moss was united with the love of her life, Bishop William H. Moss, Jr. in April 1991. During the past 32 years, they have exemplified the Love of Christ in their home, church, and community. They are proud parents of the late Wendell Moss and two daughters, Shamika (Lyn) Moss-Young and Leticia Moss. 

A TIME TO SERVE…

Pastor Robin Moss’s biblical teaching career spans 32 years of her membership at Chestnut Groove, under the pastorate of her husband, Bishop William H. Moss, Jr. She served as the Mission President, Choir President, Youth Director, Sunday School Superintendent, and Education Coordinator. Regionally, she served on several committees as part of the J. S. Manning Annual Conference of the General Conference of Free Will Baptist Church and worked in the Quad State Annual Conference. She taught at the annual convention of the Western Division of the General Conference of Free Will Baptists, Inc. Robin worked in the Education Department and as a Jewel of the Women’s Conference. Robin began her preaching ministry in January 2005 and became the co-pastor of Chestnut Grove in January 2017. She was installed as the pastor-elect of Chestnut Grove on October 9, 2022, becoming its first female pastor. Robin became a proud member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated on April 1, 2017, and served as chaplain of the Clarksville Alumnae Chapter for seven years and as a member of the Southern Regional Chaplain Council.

A TIME TO MOURN…

On December 7, 2024, at 12:21 am, Pastor, Robin Laticia Moss, PhD was called home to be with the Great “I AM”. She was preceded in death by her father Rev. William B. McGhee, stepmother Minister Emogene Louder McGhee Smith, and son Wendell Moss. Her good works are left to be continued by her husband Bishop William H. Moss Jr.; mother Lannie T. Stone; stepmother Dorothy Hudson McGhee; daughters Shamika Moss-Young (Lyn) and Leticia Dianne Moss, and stepson Tim Haynes. She is survived by nine siblings: Kathy Hill Kate's (Bruce), Darrell Peterson, Dr. Tawanna McGhee-Thondique(Omar), Tonia McGhee, Maryia Dana Jones (Kenneth), Damon McGhee(Angela), Howard Stone Jr., Marxine Green(Timothy), and Kimberly McGhee. Her grandchildren are Porsha Toliver, Darius Moss, Jasmine Dixon, Azuri Young, Damonte Moss, Javon (Nautica) Dixon, Damya Moss, Trinity Dixon, and Anthony Young. She also leaves three God-daughters: Miracle, Kierra, and Kianna, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, life-long friends, and Delta sisters to cherish her memories.
