Annette Gatson, age 69, of Clarksville, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2023.
Annette Gatson was born April 23, 1954, in Montgomery, Alabama to Lillie Webb. Annette was reared in Birmingham, Alabama where she received her formal education in the Jefferson County School System, graduating from Parker High School in 1972. She joined the United States Army in October 1977 and served until October 1981.
During a Sunday morning service in April 1978, Annette first encountered her future husband, Alexander Gatson. Their connection deepened as they served together in the weekly Friday evening Bible study, leading to their marriage in September 1979. They were blessed with a beautiful daughter named Dr. Alexis Gatson Heaston from their union. Annette's commitment extended not only to her husband but also to serving God throughout his tenure in the United States Army. Her areas of service encompassed roles in ministry such as an usher, choir member, stewardess, the Sunday School Department, the Women’s Missionary Society, and the Ministers’ Spouses, Widows and Widowers Organization, Plus P.K.’S.
Annette devoted over 25 years of her professional journey to serving the United States Federal Government, with a special focus on human resources for military personnel. During her tenure, she became known for her compassionate spirit and contagious smile.
Remaining to cherish precious memories are her devoted husband, Rev. Alexander Gatson, one loving daughter Dr. Alexis Gatson Heaston (Marlon); two precious granddaughters; Alexandria and Madelyn; four sisters, Deloris Evans, Costella Webb, Rhonda J. Webb, and Connie Bennett; three brothers, Larry Chambers, Lee Webb (Yolanda), and Darren Webb, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.
