Monica Lavette was born November 2, 1965, to Richard Griffin and Rosella Clardy Pardue Griffin in Clarksville, Tennessee. Her parents, brother, Michael Pardue, Eugene Clardy, George Clardy and Theophilus Clardy; grandparents, Lucian Clardy, Lucille Clardy and uncle, Melvin Clardy precede her in death. Viewing Saturday, January 22,2022 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at Foston Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Monica received her formal education in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System and was a graduate of Northeast High School with the Class of 1984. Furthering her education, she attended Austin Peay State University earning Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in Business. She enjoyed employment with the Tennessee State Department of Children Services as the District Coordinator for 17 years and retired in 2009. During her lifetime she helped many. She was an entrepreneur, opening her own restaurant in 2009, “Mel’Rose BBQ and Grill.” She leaves to cherish precious memories a devoted daughter, Chelsea Hinton, Clarksville, TN; sisters: Sandra (Raymond) Mayfield, Joy Hoosier, Bonita (Larry) Johnson and Kerano Pardue, all of Clarksville, TN; brothers: Keith (Annetta) Pardue, Swansboro, NC, Vince Pardue and Richard (Kara) Griffin, Tullahoma, TN; aunt, Myrtle Clardy and a host of relatives and friends.
