Kenneth Eugene began his earthly journey on Sunday, September 4, 1955, son to Allen Evans and Pearlie Carter Miller in Greensboro, North Carolina. His parents preceded him in death.
He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early. He rededicated his life to Christ and was rebaptized on December 31, 2023 and asked God to be the head of his life. Kenneth really enjoyed serving and worship at Living Word International Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Richard Woodson, Jr.
Kenneth was educated in the Guilford County, North Carolina Public School System and was a graduate of Dudley High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served as a Food Service Specialist for 18 years before retiring on May 31, 1994. Throughout his service, he was awarded an Army Service Ribbon; National Defense Service Medal; Overseas Service Ribbon (4); Army Good Conduct Medal (5th Award); Army Achievement Medal (1 OLC); Army Commendation Medal; Southwest Asia Service Medal w/2BSS and Saudi Kuwait Liberation Medal. After retirement from the Army, he enjoyed employment at Fort Campbell, KY as a mechanic.
On May 24, 2009, Kenneth united in holy matrimony with the love of his life, Loretta Jones and together they were the proud parents of three children.
He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed volunteering at the church, gardening and walking his “fur babies” Lulu and Bruno. All who knew and loved him will sorely miss his presence and smiling face.
On Thursday, February 13, 2025, Kenneth’s earthly journey ended peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones.
He leaves precious memories to be cherished with his wife, Loretta Jones-Evans; son, Trevor (Christa) Evans, Liberty, NC; daughter, Shantae Evans, Greensboro, NC; stepdaughter, August Montgomery, Clarksville, TN; five grandchildren: Zuri Renee Evans, Zaryah Andrea Evans, Devante R.
