Kelsey LaMar’s, earthly journey began in Oak Harbor, Washington to loving parents, Vernon Stem, Jr., and Dorthy Stem on June 23, 1977.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age and was a faithful member of Body of Christ Ministries Church of God in Christ, faithfully serving as a member of the Hospitality Committee and as Pastor’s Armor Bearer.
Kelsey received his formal education in the Metro Davidson County School System, where he attended and graduated from Glencliff High School with the Class of 1996. He also attended Tennessee State University (TSU). He joined the US Navy and served as an Aviation Boatswain Mate (Fuels) earning the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Navy “E” Ribbon and the Navy Good Conduct Medal. After completing his commitment to the US Navy, Kelsey enjoyed employment as a “911 Dispatcher” with Metro-Davidson County EMS.
A loving son, brother, uncle and cousin who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. A budding artist, he loved drawing. All who knew and loved him will sorely miss his presence and laughter.
On Saturday, June 25, 2022, with his loving family at his side, Kelsey answered God’s beckoning call to cease from his earthly labors and entered into his Master’s joy.
