Joe was born March 3, 1944 to Gentry Joe Williams and Gladys Williams in Trezevant, Tennessee. He is preceded in death by his parents.He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age and was a lifelong member of Wingo Missionary Baptist Church. Faithfully serving as a Deacon and member of the Senior and Male Choirs. Joe loved God and his church family.Joe received his formal education in the Carroll County School System, graduating from Webb High School with the Class of 1963.He enjoyed employment with the Norandal Corporation as a Cast Operator and Shipping Associate, retiring in 1999 after many years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Carroll County Laymen Organization. On March 9, 1968, Joe united in holy matrimony with the love of his life, Margaret Simmons. They shared 52 beautiful years together and were the proud parents of three biological children and one adopted son. On Monday, October 19, 2020, Joe answered God’s beckoning call to cease from his earthly labors to receive his heavenly reward. He leaves to cherish precious memories to his loving and devoted wife, Margaret Simmons Williams; daughters: Le’Dita (Kevin) Holder, Jackson, TN and La’Wanda (Williams) Jenkins, Madison, TN; son: Joseph La’Shaun Williams, Jackson, TN; adopted son, Vincent Lee Horton, Trezevant, TN; four grandchildren; brother, Curlie Williams, Milan, TN; sisters: Flora Strayhorn, Cartersville, GA, Georgia Rowell, Dayton, OH, Wilma Nwanza, Lagos, Nigeria and Rachel Williams, Trezevant, TN and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
