JoAnn Brown

JoAnn Singleton Brown, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and daughter of the late Joe Singleton and Robbie Mae Burt Singleton, began her earthly journey on Thursday, January 3, 1957, in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee. In addition to her parents, her sister, Mary Harris-Hall preceded her in death. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and was a member of Progressive Baptist Church. In 1985 she united with Miracle Church. She accepted her calling to preach the gospel in 2003 and was the Pastor of Clarksville Church of Deliverance from 2003 through 2016 in Clarksville, TN. ,JoAnn received her formal education in the Memphis Public School System and she was a graduate of Messick High School with the Class of 1975. She attended Vogue Beauty School and earned her license in Cosmetology in 1994. She was self-employed as a Hair Stylist for 30+ years, Real Estate Agent in 2004 and Life Coach in 2018. She united in holy matrimony on March 5, 1975 to Charles Brown. They were blessed with three sons and a daughter.  JoAnn became an Army Wife in 1986 when her husband joined the Army. She traveled and lived in Germany twice, Ft. Hood, TX and Ft. Campbell, KY. She enjoyed traveling the world with trips to Germany, five trips to Dubai, Korea, Japan, Thailand and China. She also loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed taking leisurely walks, going shopping and gardening. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

 On Thursday, July 18, 2024, JoAnn answered God’s beckoning call to cease from her earthly labors and enter into the Master’s Joy!

 She leaves precious memories to be cherished by her devoted husband of 49 years, Charles Brown; daughter, Robbie Latree (Eric) Doyle, all of Clarksville, TN; sons: Timothyy Singleton, Memphis, TN, Edouard Singleton, Clarksville, TN and Charles Brown, Jr., Nashville, TN; grandchildren: Laosha Tunstall, Morgan Singleton and Charles Brown, III; brother, Aaron Singleton, Memphis, TN; nephew, Granville Harris and niece, Erika Harris and a host of other relatives and friends.
