Imogene Burnett

Imogene L. Burnett age 89 of Clarksville went to be with her Lord on Sunday, June 5, 2022. She was born April 26, 1933, in Clarksville to Gertrude Freeman Love and Arthur Love. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Langston Burnett, parents and brother Henry Love.
Visitation Friday, June 10, 2022, 12:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. with the family present 5:00p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Foston Funeral Home. Homegoing Celebration 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2022, at St. Peter AME Church. Interment Resthaven Memorial Garden.
Imogene was a graduate of the historic Burt High School with the Class of 1950.She was a music major and graduate of Tennessee A&I (TSU) with the Class of 1952 and began her teaching career in 1953. She retired from the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System in 1989.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age and was a faithful member of St. Peter AME Church. She also shared her piano playing talent with Mt. Olive Baptist Church and Boiling Springs Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Willie Louis (WL) Burnett; son, Louis Kent (Sandra) Burnett; daughters, Kim (Patrick) Perkins and Sheri (Derrick) Washington; granddaughter, Karla Burnett, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
