Glendora Hill

Glendora, daughter to Samuel Henry Barker and Elizabeth Allen Barker, was born on Wednesday, May 17, 1933 in Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee. Her husband, William Hill, Jr.; daughters: Janice Hill and Elaine Hiter; sons: Lorenzo Hill, Willie Lee Hiter and parents preceded her in death.

She gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a member of the Mothers Board.

Glendora received her formal education in the Montgomery County Public School System. She enjoyed employment as the Head Cook for Morrison Cafeteria before retiring in 1998. 

She united in holy matrimony with William, Hill, Jr., and together they were the proud parents of 11 children,

Glendora loved spending time with loved ones at family gatherings and playing spades. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening. All who knew and loved her will sorely miss her presence and beautiful smile.

On Friday, March 22, 2024, Glendora’s earthly journey ended peacefully surrounded by loved ones.

She leaves precious memories to be cherished by her sons: Rev. Gene H. (Constance) Horne, Indianapolis, IN, Tony Eugene Hiter, Milton Lionel Hill, both of Clarksville, TN; daughters: Patricia S. Garrett, Sheila Ann Hill, Mechelle McLaughlin, all of Clarksville, TN and Vanessa (Hosea) Smith, Indianapolis, IN; 16 grandchildren: 33 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
