Geraldine Allen Sweatt, daughter to Robert Cecil Allen and Daisy L. Starks Allen, was born on February 2, 1955 in Griffin, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her spouses: Wendall Sweatt and Earl A. Brents; son, Jerome R. Wilson; foster son, Tim Massey; stepdaughter, Connie Brents; parents; sister; Myrtle J. Shacklett; aunts: Izella Nunley and Shirlene Allen; uncles: Wilbert Allen, Larry Allen and Dayton Starks.
She accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age at Pleasant Oak Ridge Baptist Church. As Geraldine grew older and made Kentucky her home, she was a member at one time of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Glasgow, KY; Pleasant Point Missionary Baptist Church in Utica, KY until moving to Clarksville, TN in 2019 when she united with Boiling Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
Geraldine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother sister, foster-mother and friend to many. She had a huge heart and the most beautiful smile. She loved unconditionally all she came in contact with, no matter the race. She loved to sing and her voice was one you wouldn’t forget. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing bingo, cards and traveling. She was always on the go, living, laughing and loving life.
On Thursday, November 26, 2020, Geraldine departed this life at the Bowling Green Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, daughters: Janie (Anthony) Williams, Carrie (Kenny) Huskey; foster daughter: Kim Massey; foster son, Eric Massey; stepson, Tyrone Brents; 18 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; sisters: Gloria (David) Kirk, Edna (Paul) Allen, Rena Allen-Alexander, Teresa Rumph, Sherry (Cynthia) Highsmith, Erica Allen, Keneisha Allen; brothers: Clarence (Carol) Allen, Walter Allen, Gary Allen, Jason Allen; uncle, Richard B. Allen, a hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, in-laws and friend; lifelong friend, Charles Young, Sr., and bonus son, Charles “Squeaky” Young, Jr.
