George Elliott

age 74 of Clarksville passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Tennova Healthcare. Visitation Thursday, February 23, 2017 12:00 noon-8:00 p.m. with the family present 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Foston Funeral Home. Funeral service 12:00 noon Friday, February 24, 2017 at St. Peter AME Church. Burial Resthaven Memorial Gardens. He was born October 3, 1942 in Clarksville, TN to Joe T. Elliott and Mary Thomas Elliott. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald L. Elliott and sister Pamela Elliott Vernon. He was a graduate of the historical Burt High School and a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church. He was a retired Police Detective with Clarksville Police Department and former president of the Clarksville Police Peace Officers Association. Survivors include his wife Capri Griffey- Elliott of Clarksville, TN; sons, Reginald W. (Jennene) Elliott, George F. (Wanda) Elliott, Jr, Memphis, TN, Carlos D. (April) Elliott and Ronnie Evans, Clarksville, TN; daughter, Perceita Beasley, Orlando, FL; sister, Gwendolyn E. (John) Gunn, Hampton, VA; brothers, Joe T.(Tyree) Elliott, Jr, Indianapolis, IN and Charles W. (Janice) Elliott, Clarksville, TN and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
