Floyd Gabriel began his earthly journey on Wednesday, January 17, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to loving parents, Willie Brogden and Minerva Watkins Brogden. His parents, brother, Willie Brogden and sisters: Joyce Forney, Rosetta Brogden and Carita Brogden preceded him in death.

He confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 16 and was baptized at Zion Hope Missionary Baptist Church.

Floyd received his formal education in the Cincinnati Public Schools and graduated from Quarter Tech High School. He was a dedicated employee of General Hospital and Children’s Hospital with 55 years combined service.

He married the love of his life, Joan Wills, and they shared 51+ years of wedded bliss. This union was Blessed with six children.

Floyd loved spending time with his family and friends, listening to old school music artists Al Green, Sam Cooke and others; watching Bengals football and Reds baseball. All who knew and loved him will sorely miss his presence and smiling face.

On Friday, March 14, 2025, Floyd’s earthly journey ended peacefully.

Floyd’s life will forever be cherished in the lives of his devoted wife, Joan (Wills) Brogden; children: Carmen Wise, Sandra (Michael) Leach, Samuel (Donna) Smith, Kenneth Brogden, Steven (Laura) Brogden and Sherry (Patrick) Mikell; grandchildren: Crystal, Daron, Sam, III, Darius, Deon, Justin, Donetta, Rashod, Rion, Reyon, Avier, Rayshawn and Raina; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters: Jean Jeter, Gilda Younger and Sheila Walker and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
