Dorothey Thomas

December 28, 1953 — June 28, 2022

Dorothey was one of three children born to Jake and Aurdria Griffie in Adams, TN on December 28, 1953. She was immersed in the Christian community surrounding Nevels Chapel Baptist Church. She gave her life to Christ at the tender age of ten. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Aurdria Griffie, her sister, Almedia Haynes and nephew, Recco McKeage. She later served as church secretary, youth advisor, on the Mothers board and also Pastoral staff. Dorothey graduated from Clarksville High School in 1971. She attended Austin Peay State University and later graduated with an Associates Degree in Business from Nashville Business School. She married Nathaniel Stowe I and gave birth to three children and later adopted a fourth.  Dorothey later married Will Thomas and added two children with this 23 year union. Rev. Thomas received her calling to the ministry in 2003. She was ordained at Cabin Row Baptist Church by Pastor Bobby G. Trotter.  Mrs. Thomas retired from Nyrstar where she worked as a financial support coordinator for 43 years since its start up. She loved working and rarely took days off.
