November 12, 1945 — March 13, 2022

Doris Lucille Redmon, age 76, passed away March 13, 2022 at Tennova Hospital in Clarksville, TN. Doris was born in Jackson, MS on November 12, 1945 to Lola B. Lee and Wilson Lee, Sr.The father of her children, Felmon Keith Redmon, Sr., parents and brother, Gerald Edward Keys, Sr. and cousin, Stacey Bryant precede her in death.  She was raised in Gary, IN. Mrs. Redmon aka “Ms. Doris” loved the Lord. She was loved by all who came in contact with her. Her wit and electrifying smile captured your attention immediately. Her strength, coupled with her determination battling her illness was relentless. She had a strong will and spirit that was infectious. Ms. Doris graduated from Roosevelt High School in Gary, IN with the Class of 1964. Graduation from high school was the catalyst to her position in the dietary department at   the Jewish Home and Care Center in Milwaukee, WI and on to order processing at Spiegel Catalog in Chicago, IL. Furthering her education resulted in her certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Gary, IN at the Gary Career Center. Ms. Doris was an exceptionally amazing mother, wife, sister and homemaker. She was positioned as a military mom during her life. She enjoyed her role and was a major support system for not only her soldier, but her entire family. Her children were the core of her world. Her travels excited her as she lived in Indiana, Wisconsin, Fort Wainwright, Alaska and Tennessee. Alaska is where she developed her passion for pottery and creating/collecting elephant figurines. She fined tuned her planting and gardening skills while taking advantage of the warm temperatures in Tennessee. She loved working with plants, vegetables and volunteering to maintain the planters at local nursing homes. Always, always adding vibrant, uplifting colors to the arrangements to include her favorite, the royal color PURPLE. Mrs. Redmon was absolutely devoted to her relationships. She loved and was extremely proud of her family, especially her grandchildren and enjoyed following their growth. She treasured her friendships and truly enjoyed her leisure time engaging with her friends. The bonds of love, trust and devotion formed with her friends are forever lasting. She leaves precious memories to be cherished by her children: Aretta L. Redmon, Rochelle R. Cox and Felmon K (Sone). Redmon, Jr.; grandchildren: Jamar Golden, Joey Golden, Julius Greenlaw, Shaquille Traywicks, Darell Tyus, Paris Tyus, Jasmine Tyus, Avion Redmon, Aliah Redmon, Sierra Redmon, Kierra Redmon and Mariah Redmon; brother, Wilson (Darlene) Lee; cousin who raised her, Pauline Bryant; cousins, Porsha (James) Eldredge, Simon, Jr., and Dwayne L. Simon; brother-in-law; sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
