Darrell Jay was born in Clarksville, TN on July 19, 1970, to Henry Hudson Titington and Mattie Mae Brewer Titington Skelton. In addition to his parents, his sister, Brenda Jane “Pokie” Titington and brothers: Fredrick Lewis and Ralph Lewis precede him in death.. Visitation Thursday, November 8, 2018 12:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. Funeral service 12:00 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2018 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church. Interment Evergreen Cemetery.
He received his education in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System and was a graduate of Northwest High School with the Class of 1989. Furthering his education he attended Draughon’s Junior College and Miller-Mott Technical College with a focus in home health care and medical technician. He was self-employed as a home health caregiver.
Affectionately known as “DJ” to family and friends, he always had a great time laughing and reminiscing with his siblings, educating his family and friends on Black history, loved researching and discussing African history, taking care of others whether taking them a plate of food or providing home health care services. He was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking Caribbean dishes. All who knew and loved him will sorely miss his presence.
He departed this life on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.
He leaves to cherish precious memories his children: Tiesha Rogers, Khadijah Titington, Khalil Titington and Khallid Titington; sisters: Janice (Romie) Jefferson, Cassandra (Anthony) Bass, Linda (George) Scott, Ambra Rivera and Barbara Strickland; brothers: Darren Ray Titington, James (Tracy) Brewer, Lynnwood (Patricia) Titington, George Titington, Larry Titington, Lionel (Lauren) Robinson and Rosland Lewis; cousin/close friend, Rodney Majors; devoted companion, Unique Tramel; children’s mother, Tesha Titington; 4 grandchildren: Paris, Aniyah, Kai’Are and Asia; aunts: Verlene Titington and Charlene Brewer and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
