Cullume Foster Rogers was born on Thursday, March 25, 1943 in Cunningham, TN to Samuel Rogers and Eula Ramey-Rogers.
Cullume was united in Holy Matrimony to Rubye Nell Ramey on November 30, 1964. To their union, five children were born.
Cullume’s Christian upbringing led him to profess his love for Christ and be baptized at a young age.
Cullume attended Montgomery County's renowned schools, J.K. Dickson and Burt High School.
Cullume has a record of distinguished service in the United States Army from 1964 to 1987. While serving his country, he received several commendations to include 2 Meritorious Service Medals, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, 7 Good Conduct Medals, Vietnam Campaign Medal, 3 Overseas Service Bars, 2 First Oak Leaf Cluster Medals, and the Army Service Ribbon. In addition to this notable recognition, he was honorably discharged with 23 years of service and retired with the rank of Sergeant First Class (E7) from the U.S. Army.
Cullume was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, who lived a life marked by a strong work ethic, genuine care for others, and an unwavering love for God Almighty. Known for his quiet spirit, his family and friends describe him as fun, funny, and kind-hearted. Throughout his life, he demonstrated his friendly nature, making many friends along the way. A devoted family man, he prioritized his family's well-being and was a diligent provider. He cared deeply about the things that mattered to others and stayed informed about current events and politics. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting, watching sports (especially boxing), and playing solitaire.
Cullume departed this life on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville, TN. He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Samuel Rogers, and mother, Mrs. Eula Mae Ramey-Rogers; siblings, Bertha Mae Daniel, Obie Lucille Sweatt, Ella Lee Brown, Shirley Gail Rogers, Elizabeth Denise Rogers, Bailey Lee Rogers, Gleason Ramey Rogers, and Thomas Wayne Rogers.
Cullume leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his beloved wife, Rubye Nell Ramey-Rogers; four children: Bonita(Anthony) Roger, Southside, TN, Jerry (Lisa) Roger, Fort Charles, LA, Ricky (Bridgitt) Roger, Colorado Springs, CO, and Kimberly A. Roger , Clarksville, TN; 22 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers: John R.(Priscilla) Rogers, Washington D.C., and George E.(Hazel) Rogers, Cunningham, TN; sisters: Maggie Lee Batson, Cunningham, TN, Nancy Reed, Madison, TN, Carol Rogers, Nashville, TN, and Penny Rogers, Cunningham, TN; one sister-in-law, Mary (Clifford) Bell of Nashville, TN; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
