Mr. Miller, age 88, went home to be with our Lord on April 2, 2020. Private Service.Interment Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Due to health concerns regarding the Coronavirus, a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Claybon, who was known as Clay by most of his friends and relatives, was born March 4, 1932 in Todd County Kentucky, the fifth of six children born to the union of Robert and Mary Ella Townsend Miller. He is preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 62 years, Althea Allen Miller, his parents, three brothers - Preston, James Jr. and Charles Miller and two sisters – Emma Miller Heard (Luther) and Virginia Miller Stewart (John). Mr. Miller leaves to cherish his memory, a loving daughter, Cynthia Miller Cole; beloved  sons, Clay Jr. and Joseph (Gail) Miller; 8 wonderful grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law along with a host of nieces, nephews, very special cousins and many, many friends.

Claybon accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member and Deacon of First Missionary Baptist Church for over 40 years. Mr. Miller was a 1950 graduate of Historic Burt High School and attended Fisk University. He was employed by Canadian Pacific Railway early on, a long-time employee of B. F. Goodrich and later Acme Boot Company, from which he retired. Over the years, Claybon enjoyed being a TSSAA football official for more than 47 years. Mr. Miller was also a member of Warfield Lodge #44.
