Clarence was born December 30, 1948 to Thomas Bingley, Sr., and Alice Holmes Bingley in Round O, South Carolina. Visitation Sunday, July 9, 2017 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. with the family present 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. at Foston Funeral Home. Funeral service 1:00 p.m.Monday, July 10, 2017 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Burial Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Clarence accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age. He united with New Hope Missionary Baptist Church shortly after relocation to Fort Campbell, Kentucky with the military. He was active in the Brotherhood Union and faithfully served as an Usher. He received his education in the public school system of Colleton, South Carolina and was a 1967 graduate of Colleton County High School. After graduation, he joined the US Army and received many awards and medals for distinguished service. He retired after 30 years of dedicated service as a Sergeant Major/E-9, Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor. After retirement from the military, he worked with the Honeywell Company. Clarence married the love of his life, Catherine “Lois” Rives, who preceeded him in death. In addition to his parents, his sister Geraldine Chisolm precedes him in death, also. He loved spending time with his family and friends and found pleasure in restoring old cars to their original state. All who knew and loved him will sorely miss his presence. On Sunday, July 2, 2017, Clarence transitioned from his earthly life to his heavenly home. He leaves to cherish precious memories his son: T. Deon Bingley, Clarksville, TN, and daughter, Melissa (Eric) Rhett, Blythewood, SC, five grandchildren; brother, Thomas Bingley, Jr., Round O, SC; sisters: Dorothy (Bill) McCrae, Grand Prairie, TX, Evelyn Andrews, Cleveland, OH, Nadine (Richard) Waldburg, Jamaica, NY, Mother-in-Law Carrie Rives, three Sisters-in-Law, two Brothersin-Law, and a host of other relatives and friends.
