Visitation Tuesday, December 27, 2016 12:00 noon-7:00p.m. with the family present 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Foston Funeral Home. Funeral service 12:00 noon December 28, 2016 at Concord Missionary Baptist Church. Burial Benevolent Lodge #210. He was born April 7, 1949 in Adams, TN to Walter Henry Dowlen and Estella Beatrice Brooks Dowlen. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Martha Thomas, Mildred Williams, Gladys Dowlen, Charles Smith, William Dowlen and Walter L. Dowlen. He was married to Virginia Johnson Dowlen. He was the owner of Big D's Auto. He leaves to cherish his memories daughters, Nikki (Josh) Clark, Clarksville, TN and Andrea Dowlen, Brentwood, TN; sons, Ben Dowlen, Jr and Justin (Derria) Dowlen both of Clarksville and Fred Rice; sisters, Debbie (James) Dowlen and Mattie (Isaiah) Head both of Clarksville, TN and 4 grandchildren and a companion, Giselle Rutherford and a host of family and friends.
