Audrey Garner

Audrey Garner was born April 13, 1961 in St. Louis, MO. God’s beloved one, Audrey departed her earthly life on Friday, December 31, 2021. She was the daughter of Andrew Garner and Emma Lee Ligon Garner. Her son, Terrance Garner, parents, two brothers: Gary A. Garner, Larry D. Garner and sister Benita Garner preceded her in death.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in Kokomo, IN by Pastor F.S. Kemper at Mt. Pisgah Church. Audrey attended Haworth High School and graduated from an adult education class.
Later in life, she moved to Clarksville, TN and joined God’s Sanctuary Church International in 2006 where she remained a member til God called her rest. She loved her church and always boasted of joy, fellowships and powerful anointed word of God she received during worship services. Audrey was genuinely committed to serving God, showing God’s Glory through her interactions and responsibilities with church and family. She was a mighty prayer warrior always interceding, lifting her family and friends in prayer. She loved gospel music and singing. She also participated in the childcare ministry, culinary ministry and the hospitality ministry serving in any capacity. Audrey didn’t settle for only serving in the church building, she belonged to “The Jesus’ Ladies,” a group of women that weren’t ashamed to stand on street corners and profess their love for Jesus and relate the message that “Jesus Loves Us All”.
Audrey’s life interactions preached her life story as she gave up her home to move with her daughter and assist with her beloved grandchildren. Always caring for others, putting them first was one of her God given assets. She also loved to dress beautifully and coordinated her attire from head to toe and enjoyed making others smile. Praising her Lord was her greatest passion.
Audrey leaves to cherish her memory two daughters: Lakisa Bowen, Rachel Bowen; two sons: Tony Bowen and Timothy Bowen, all of Clarksville, TN; 12 grandchildren: Ja’Maya M. Graves, Ja’Niyah M. Graves, Jerrico M. Graves, Madison Bowen, Heaven Brown, Imani Bowen, Tony Bowen, Jr., Makenzie Bowen Shakari Bowen, Shakiya Bowen, Saniyah Bowen and Amalia Cruz, all of Clarksville, TN; two sisters: Jewell Phillips, St. Louis, MO and Naomi Garner, Kokomo, IN; aunt, Earnestine Ligon Tremill and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.

My deepest condolences to the family during this difficult and trying time. I remember Ms. Audrey when we all lived in Ramblewood. Ms. Audrey was such a sweet, kind and gentle soul. She loved her children tremendously and everything she did was for her babies. Even back then, her love for God was so strong and powerful and she was filled with the Holy Spirit! Rest in Paradise Ms. Audrey.

Not sure where to begin.. Mom I\'m going to miss you so much, but I\'m glad that you are no longer suffering. The Lord brought us together twenty-four years ago, and I\'m so thankful that he chose to bring such a beautiful woman into my life. After the first time I met you we were inseparable for years. You always invited me over to your house after church service for dinner, or just to spend time with you all. I have some of the fondest memories just sitting at the kitchen table taking to you. You took me into your home, and your heart. You made me feel loved and , I felt like I belonged to you and your family. I thank you for all of the countless times that you prayed me through, some of the toughest times in my life. Even when I chose to walk away from the church you still loved me the same, never judging or condemning me, and I thank you for that. I can still hear you talking, and it hurts my heart to know that I\'ll never hear your voice again. I love you. To my sisters and brothers, I\'m praying for you all and know that I love you and I\'m here if you need me.
Lataki (smile that is what Mama called me)
